Case Study: Rail Station Automatic Door Installation & Security Upgrade

Client Challenge: Delivering Upgrades in a Live Rail Environment

Delivering infrastructure upgrades within a live rail station presents a unique set of challenges. The project required precise coordination, strict adherence to programme schedules, and the ability to work safely within a busy public transport environment without disrupting daily operations.

Our contractor, working in collaboration with Network Rail, Sisk, and GWR, required a trusted partner to deliver compliant, high-performance access and security solutions within the station.

The key objectives included improving accessibility, enhancing security, and upgrading thermal efficiency across key areas of the station.

Our Solution: Compliant, Integrated Access & Security Systems

We successfully delivered and installed a range of specialist systems tailored to the operational demands of the station environment.

Scope of works included:

  • Installation of 3 new double thermally broken Senior Systems swing door sets
  • Integration with Record DFA127 swing door operators
  • Full compliance with BS EN 16005 accessibility standards

Additional installations:

  • 3 new roller shutter systems, including:
    • 1 serving the main station ticket office
    • 2 securing a new retail unit within the station concourse

Each element was carefully specified and installed to ensure durability, reliability, and seamless operation within a high-traffic setting.
