Introduction
BBI Group’s project manager, Gary, reached out to us with a request to evaluate a site for a new set of doors in an open plan office. The client required an access control system to secure a designated area within the office, and Gary needed a solution that would meet these security requirements while maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of the workspace.
Identified Issues
The primary concern was the potential impact of traditional swing doors. Installing swing doors in an open plan office could have been problematic, as they would occupy valuable space and potentially disrupt the office layout. Additionally, the space constraints made it crucial to find a solution that balanced security with minimal intrusion into the office environment.
Solution
This project provided an exciting opportunity to design a solution from scratch. We proposed a sleek automatic sliding door system, which offered several advantages:
- Space Efficiency: The sliding mechanism ensured that no additional space was required for door swing, making it ideal for the open plan layout.
- Modern Aesthetic: The bi-parting sliding doors complemented the contemporary office environment, enhancing the overall visual appeal.
- Access Control Integration: The sliding doors were designed to seamlessly incorporate access control features, providing the necessary security without compromising on style or functionality.
The installation of the auto sliding door system not only secured the designated area but also contributed to a clean, uncluttered office design, making efficient use of the available space.
Feedback
Gary expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, noting, “As always, working with the J Manny team was a pleasure. Their professionalism, quick turnaround, and exceptional finish made this project a success. Thanks to everyone involved – see you on the next one!”
This case study highlights the benefits of innovative design solutions in overcoming spatial constraints and achieving both functional and aesthetic objectives in modern office environments.
