Client Challenge: Modernising an Ageing University Entrance
An entrance screen installation was recently completed by J Manny for a long-standing customer at a university in South Wales. The project involved removing an ageing revolving door and installing new entrance screen work to create a cleaner, more modern entrance area.
The existing revolving door was taking up valuable space within the entrance, while the client wanted to create a more contemporary appearance and make better use of the available area.
As the university remained operational, careful planning and coordination were important to ensure the works were completed with minimal disruption to the site.
Our Solution: Entrance Screen Installation
J Manny removed the existing ageing revolving door and completed the entrance screen installation in its place, transforming the appearance and feel of the entrance area.
The new screens provide a cleaner, more modern finish while allowing more natural light into the entrance. Removing the revolving door also freed up valuable space that had previously been occupied by the existing entrance system.
The project included:
- Removal of the existing ageing revolving door
- Installation of new entrance screen work
- A cleaner, more modern entrance finish
- Increased natural light within the entrance area
- More usable space following the removal of the revolving door
- Careful planning to minimise disruption to the university
- Working closely with the client’s estates team and appointed contractor
The works were completed on behalf of the contractor, with J Manny working closely with the university’s estates team to help ensure the project was delivered with minimal disruption.

University Entrance Screen Installation: The Outcome
J Manny successfully completed the entrance upgrade, removing the ageing revolving door and installing new screen work to create a cleaner and more modern entrance area.
The new screens allow more natural light into the space while freeing up valuable room that was previously occupied by the revolving door. The result is a more open and contemporary entrance that makes better use of the available space.
As a long-standing customer, the university already trusts J Manny to look after its doors across the site, so it was great to support the estates team with this additional entrance upgrade.
We would like to thank the university’s estates team for working with us to keep disruption to a minimum, as well as the contractor we worked on behalf of throughout the project.
