How to Operate Your new Automatic Swing Door

The BDE-D control pad provides clear and effective control of Record DFA 127 automatic swing doors, allowing users to manage operating modes, monitor system status and ensure safe day-to-day use.

In Automatic mode, the DFA 127 swing door opens in response to activation devices such as motion sensors or push pads. Depending on site configuration, the door may be activated from one or both sides. The BDE-D display shows the selected mode and highlights any fault or warning messages, helping users identify issues quickly.

Selecting Hold Open keeps the swing door permanently open until another mode is chosen. This is ideal for deliveries, high traffic periods or accessibility needs. One-Way mode restricts activation to a single direction, making it useful during closing times or when controlling access flow in healthcare, retail or office environments.

For situations where automatic operation is not required, Manual mode can be selected. This disables powered activation and allows the door to be used manually, while still benefiting from the controlled closing characteristics of the DFA 127 operator.

The BDE-D also supports Reduced Opening where configured. This limits the swing angle of the door, helping to minimise heat loss and improve energy efficiency during colder weather or when full opening is unnecessary.

At closing time, the door can be placed into a locked mode, preventing automatic activation. Staff can temporarily release the lock to exit safely before the door returns to a secure state and is locked mechanically if required. During opening routines, doors must be unlocked manually before selecting the appropriate operating mode on the control pad.

For security and safety, the BDE-D control pad can be locked, preventing unauthorised adjustments to door settings. If the system encounters a fault or abnormal behaviour, a soft reset can be carried out via the BDE-D once the doorway is fully clear of people or obstructions.

The BDE-D control pad complements the DFA 127 swing door operator by offering simple, reliable and secure control, ensuring smooth operation, user safety and compliance across a wide range of building types.
